Coffee School
ATS refers our students to the Coffee School. Dan Benmayor has run his school in Glebe for the last 10 years. In that time he has trained in excess of 50,000 students in the art of making coffee.
Many of you would question whether making coffee is an "art". The actor Omar Sharif, who played a killer game of backgammon once said, "It takes half an hour to learn how to play the game and a lifetime to play it well". You could easily apply this statement to coffee making. Visiting the States several times, where I have yet to drink a decent coffee inclines me to elevate a coffee made well from a skill to an art.
So if you would like to join the ranks of baristas who are in strong demand, the Coffee School is an excellent place to start for quality training. Beyond covering the basics in coffee making each student:
- Has their own coffee machine
- Has the opportunity to enrol in a class that deals with "Coffee Art" alone
- In a full day session will make as many as 100 coffees
- May return to practice at no extra charge once completing the course
- Is referred to genuine jobs from employers seeking trained baristas
Until the end of June you can complete the Barista Course at the reduced rate of $95. You can book on line at any time on the ATS web site. If you would like to complete the full training day at $195 (Barista & Coffee Art) call 9286 3566.
