"SENIOR FIRST AID" HAS BEEN PHASED OUT (30 June 2009). You can now complete its replacement, the competency "APPLY FIRST AID" which is VETAB ACCREDITED & RECOGNISED BY WORKCOVER.

One day face to face format

Complete the workbook in your time prior to attending the course.

You can access & complete the workbook on line (once you have booked & paid our system will automatically email you a user name & password, you can start straight away if you wish or complete sections at your convenience) or have it posted to you (additional $5.50 for postage, call our office on 9286 3566 to arrange) & once you have attended & successfully completed the one day practical component of the course you will be issued with a certificate on the same day.

This course is recognised under the Australian Quality Training Framework, VETAB & has Workcover and Australian Resuscitation Council approval.

Course Summary: This unit deals with the skills and knowledge requirements to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

Course Structure:

• Select a course to attend
• Book & pay online, in person, over the phone or post
• Complete the workbook on the internet or at an additional fee of $5.50 we'll post the hard copy manual & workbook
• Our system will automatically generate a user name & password & send to the email address you nominate allowing you access to the "Read only" Active First Aid Handbook & the workbook. If you choose this option you will receive the hard copy manual at your practical session.
• You must complete the workbook prior to attendance of the one day face to face training, you can complete the workbook in your time, stopping & starting at your convenience.
• Alternatively, you can enrol in a course over the phone or in person & we can post an Active First Aid handbook and a First Aid workbook . If you do not have a credit card but can access the internet & have an email address, we can still email you a user name & password to complete the workbook on the internet.
• Attend the nominated practical session, at the conclusion of which you will be assessed via practical demonstrations and a theory assessment.

Course duration: 6 hours

Assessment & completion standard: both theory & written. Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a statement of attainment. ATS will also issue a wallet size copy of this statement of attainment for the student's convenience.
